How we rank Louisiana businesses

1. Real ratings only. Rankings are built from published Google ratings and review counts - signals earned from real customers, not editorial opinion.

2. A quality floor. A business must hold at least a 4.0 rating with 15 or more reviews to be listed. Established quality beats popup operations.

3. Confidence, not just stars. Within a category we rank by how good we can be confident a business actually is, using the lower bound of a statistical confidence interval on its rating. Review volume is evidence: a 4.9 built from 7 reviews is a weak claim, while a 4.5 built from 890 is a strong one, and the order reflects that. This replaced a simpler rating-first sort on August 2026, because that sort let a handful of reviews outrank hundreds.

4. No pay-to-play. Rankings cannot be bought. Sponsored placements, when present, are clearly labeled Featured and never change the earned order beneath them.

5. Refreshed monthly. Ratings change, so rankings do too. This page's data was last refreshed August 2026.

6. Claiming is free and verified. Owners can claim a listing at no cost; we confirm the claim actually comes from the business before marking it verified.

How to move up this ranking

Two things move your position, and nothing else does - there is no paid placement that changes where you rank, ever.

Claim your listing. Free, and once you're verified it adds a small, real tie-breaking bonus. It cannot rescue a listing with few reviews, but among close competitors it matters.
